SG50 senior
Dining, entertainment, wellness, and staycation discounts for seniors.

Around this time of year when Singapore celebrates her birthday, many restaurants and retailers also give discounts to those who were born in the same year and are the same age as our nation. Since this is a golden jubilee year, the discounts are even more substantial and have been extended to all seniors age 50 and above (with some terms and conditions). So if you’re a senior, you’re in for some awesome treats!

The SG50 Seniors package includes over 200 types of offers from more than 100 companies across the broad categories of Dining, Leisure, Lifelong Learning, Lifestyle and Wellness. More than 700,000 seniors are eligible to enjoy the benefits of this package. This is also a good opportunity for the younger generation to treat their parent for a day out and spend quality time with them. Participating outlets will display the SG50 Seniors decal for easy identification. Most of the promotions are available until the end of August or September, so do take advantage of these opportunities before it’s too late!

A summary of the discounts can be found on the Ministry of Health website.

Highlights include

  • Free Stuff: free NATAS Travel Fair goodie bag (31 July – 2 Aug), free limited edition John Little ValuePlus card, free PAssion card, free SG50 Public Transport Vouchers worth $50, free ActiveSG membership with $125 credits (existing members can get a free $25 top-up), free consultation at Eu Yan Sang for new patients, 50 free sponsored comprehensive health screenings at Mount Elizabeth Orchard, free hearing screening at MyEar, and free sponsored oral and dental check-up at Parkway Dental.
  • Free Entry: Gardens by the Bay Conservatories, Jurong Bird Park, Singapore Zoo, and Sentosa 4D Adventure Pass.
  • Steep Discounts: S.E.A. Aquarium tickets at $15, 1-night stay at Days Hotel at $50++ per person, 18 holes at Marina Bay Golf Course for $50 nett, and SG50 Eye Screening Package at $5 per package.
  • Lots of 50% off and 1-for-1 Dining Deals.

Do note that some of the discounts and freebies have additional terms and age restrictions. For the rest of us under age 50, the only steep SG50 promotion I’m aware of is a $50 health screening at Northeast Medical Group (you must be a PAssion member). Like most SG50 promotions, this one is only available until the end of September.
