While these buffets may not have the same variety that a buffet at a five-star hotel would have, you can still find great food and a decent spread, all without breaking the bank. And you won’t need a voucher or a 1-for-1 credit card promotion. These buffets are all around $15 or less. Compared to “The Line” at Shangri-La or “Carousel” at Royal Plaza, where you’ll have to spend 4x the amount. But is the food there really 4x better? (more…)

How to Save Time Preparing a Homemade Meal

Food preparation can be quick, easy, and delicious with the right tools.

The number 1 reason people don’t cook at home is “not enough time”. But if you compare the time it takes to dine out (including travel time and wait time) to eating at home, sometimes dining out takes even more time. And if you use easy and quick preparation methods at home (like I do), then cooking at home takes just minutes. I can even multitask and do other things while I cook. My favourite kitchen appliance is my pressure cooker. It not cooks rice twice as fast, it can cook an entire multi-course meal for 20 guests in less than two hours time.  (more…)
