In its 13th year, Pesta Raya – Malay Festival of Arts returns to the Esplanade for four days (28 – 31 Aug). Come celebrate the Malay arts and culture through dance, music, and theatre performances. In addition to ticketed shows, there are plenty of free events. One of the reasons why I absolutely love living here is that there is always something fun, inspirational, or entertaining to do/see for free! This year, the Bras Basah & Bugis precincts will once again be transformed into a nocturnal showcase of arts, heritage and culture. Expect dazzling displays and surprises for the next two weekends. This will be the 7th year of the Singapore Night Festival. And begins tonight. This year’s theme is “Bold and Beautiful”. And it promises to be “louder, edgier, and wilder”, according to Festival Director Angelita Teo. (more…)

Where to Get Discount Tickets to the Alive Museum

The Alive Museum is where you can be immersed in the art.

I had the opportunity to visit the recently opened Alive Museum, an optical illusion museum where you actually become a part of the artwork. Located in Suntec City, the museum covers 10,000 sqft. It has over 80 works of art, 9 of which are locally themed. That number will increase to more than 100 by early next year. The works of art are all hand-painted by a team of artists who refresh and update about one-third of the collection and exhibits every year, allowing visitors to have a different experience each time they visit.
