In the States, I used to buy a huge bottle of eyeglass cleaning solution from Costco, and that would last me many years. As there is no Costco in Singapore, I decided to try and make my own solution. It turns out that making a solution is way cheaper than buying one. Even if you are able to buy in bulk from a wholesaler.
It’s also really simple! And chances are, I bet you already have all the ingredients available in your home.
Eyeglass Cleaning Solution Recipe
In a spray bottle, I mix:
- 3/4 part (isopropyl) rubbing alcohol
- 1/4 part water
- a few drops of dish soap (depending on the size of the spray bottle)
The cheapest place that I could find isopropyl alcohol was at Mustafa Centre ($5.80 for 500mL).
Sometimes I use this solution to clean my mirrors. It does a decent job too.
