Just how much can you save if you wait an hour to take your lunch? How about 50%?

Just like you’re incentivised to travel at off-peak hours, you can get discounts (as much as 50% off!) from many restaurants to dine at off-peak hours through a new reservation platform called Eatigo. Their motto is “connecting empty stomachs with empty tables”. They currently have more than 100 partner restaurants and their database is growing. Here are some other nice features about this new reservation platform:

Eatigo Perks

  1. Even if you decide to dine during peak hours, many restaurants will still give at least a 10% discount.
  2. You can search based on cuisine and/or location.
  3. Eatigo has links to the menus of many restaurants on their website.
  4. The online platform and mobile app is free to download, use and make reservations.
  5. You get an SMS confirmation of your booking, which you show upon arrival to the restaurant; there are no vouchers to print.

An added FREE bonus: From now until 26 July, when you make reservations with them using their promo codes, you can get a $5 Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf card, a $7 movie voucher, and a $10 Zalora voucher.

If you have flexible working hours, this reservation platform can save you a lot of money. It can also improve your overall dining experience as the restaurant will be less crowded. I was surprised to find that some places that already are considered “cheap eats” are partnered with Eatigo and giving discounts up to 50%, such as Honguo.

My experience:

I’ve been sick for the past week and while I usually cook at home, I was just not feeling up to it. I also was craving really hot soup despite the hot weather. Since the start of this year, my go-to place for steamboat is Suki-Ya because they had been running a 1-for-1 weekday lunch promotion for OCBC cardholders for the past several months (which cost $18.90++ for 2 persons, or $11.10 nett per person). But that promotion expired at the end of June.

Fortunately, I found that Suki-Ya was listed on Eatigo, and even though 11am – 2pm is considered “peak lunch hours”, they were giving a 50% discount for reservations during that time slot. In addition, I wasn’t restricted to using a specific credit card, and I will definitely make use of the free Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf card. Now I just need to get well….

A Bonus: Sign up for Eatigo using my referral code, and get reward points (worth $5). You can use/accumulate these points to redeem for vouchers! You’ll also be helping me to keep this website going.
