The Singapore Philatelic Museum and the Peranakan Museum will be closed for a major redevelopment beginning 18 March and 1 April, respectively. They will not open again until the end of 2020 (Singapore Philatelic Museum) and midyear 2021 (Peranakan Museum). This means that now is a fabulous time to visit these two historical heritage centres.
Prior to their closures, both museums will have special programmes and open houses lined up for visitors. For example, there will be a Lunar New Year Open House at Singapore Philatelic Museum (6 Feb), and the Peranakan Museum will be throwing an Armenian Street Party (15 – 16 March), as part of National Heritage Board’s annual Singapore Heritage Festival.
